As explained in Introduction to ArcGIS Data Store, there are several types of data stores you can include with an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment. You specify which types to install and configure on each machine.
The following steps summarize how to configure an ArcGIS Data Store type for use with an ArcGIS Enterprise portal:
- Configure ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS.
You must create an ArcGIS GIS Server site to be used as the ArcGIS Enterprise portal's hosting server before you can create a data store.
- Install
ArcGIS Data Store.
When you run the installer, specify which type of data store to install.
- If you require communication with ArcGIS Data Store to always authenticate through SSL using a certificate from a certifying authority, replace the default ArcGIS Data Store certificate for this installation.
- Configure the data store.
This creates the data store type that you installed in step 2.
- If you require high availability for the data store, add a data store machine or machines to this data store type.
- Configure a shared location for backups for this data store type.
- If you require other types of data stores, such as the object store, repeat steps 2 through 6 on additional machines.
