An introduction to licensing apps built with ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps

Apps built with ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps must be licensed before they are deployed to production. Production licenses are named ArcGIS Runtime licenses. There are four ArcGIS Runtime license levels: Lite, Basic, Standard, and Advanced. Each license level is associated with a set of capabilities.

Production licenses can be obtained through user authentication or as a license string. You must assign members of your organization a user type that includes the ArcGIS Runtime license level that matches the requirements of the application they want to use. The following table lists which license level is included with each user type:

License levelUser type
ArcGIS Runtime Lite

Included in user types with view capabilities, such as the Viewer and Lite user types

ArcGIS Runtime Basic

Included in user types with view and edit capabilities, such as the Contributor, Mobile Worker, and Basic user types

ArcGIS Runtime Standard

Included in user types with view, edit, create, and manage capabilities, such as the Creator, Creator, and Standard user types

ArcGIS Runtime Advanced

Included in the Professional, Professional Plus, and Advanced user types

The Runtime Analysis add-on license is compatible with any user type that includes the ArcGIS Runtime Standard or ArcGIS Runtime Advanced license level.
